Online
Booking of GP Appointments
and Ordering of Repeat
Medication |
We have an online
system to enable patients to book
some appointments with a GP and also
for the ordering of repeat
medication. In order to use this,
you will need to register for the
service by calling at one of our
surgeries with some identification.
The administrative staff will then
issue you with a user name and a
password together with details of
the website address for you to log
in. Once you log in, you will be
able to change your password.
In order to reduce the number of
calls to the surgery, especially
first thing in the morning, a number
of pre-bookable appointments will be
available for booking with the GPs
up to 4 weeks in advance. There will
be a limit on the number of
appointments available via the
online booking system in order that
not all the appointments are booked
prior to the day.
If you have more than 2 appointments
already booked with any of our
clinical staff, then you will not be
able to book any appointments on
line.
Appointments with the Nurses and
Healthcare Assistants will still
need to be booked by contacting the
surgery direct due to the variable
length of them depending on what
they are for.
The system will allow you to order
your repeat medication online up to
7 days before it is due. This should
give sufficient time for us to
action your request and for you to
then collect the prescription and
take it to the pharmacy for your
medication to be dispensed. The
prescription will normally be ready
for you to collect 2 working days
after you request it.
If you need to see a clinician for a
review of your medication, you will
not be able to order your
prescription on line. Also, if you
try to order it prior to 7 days
before it is due, again, you will
not be able to order it. Should you
require your prescription earlier
than usual (for example, you need it
before going on holiday), you will
need to let us have a normal written
request.
As well as pre-booking an
appointment with a GP and reordering
your repeat medication, you can also
update us with any change of address
and/or telephone number.
Periodically, we may have some
questionnaires available and we
would appreciate it if you would
take the time to complete any that
are applicable.
You will be able to change your
password. This should be done when
you initially log on to the service
and then periodically afterwards. If
you believe anyone knows your logon
details, change your password
immediately. This is a secure
facility and should anyone obtain
your log on details, they will only
be able to see what appointments you
have recently had or have booked and
any regular medication you are on;
there is no access to your medical
record.
